PASTORAL STAFF
RAY AND MARY ANNE BALE
Ray and Mary Anne began serving at VCF in 1988 and over the next five years served as College and Career leaders. In 1993 they responded to the call as pastors of VCF. Their heart has always been for missions, having led teams to Central America and Africa. This eventually led to a work in Burundi and ultimately a physical move to that country in 2002. Ray and Mary Anne have served in various capacities helping orphans, widows and victims of war to rebuild their lives in Burundi and in Eastern Congo. They have two daughters, 15 grandchildren and a young son, Boss David who is originally from Congo. Ray is very motivated and carries a strong gifting in leadership and pastoral skills. His heart is to see the church released to its full potential in Christ and to fulfill the mandate of Matthew 28. Ray enjoys many sports including running, hiking, biking and golf.
CHARLIE AND JUDY WHITLEY
Charlie and Judy were set in as VCF’s associate pastors in October 2013. They met at Kings Bible College in 1984 and were married the following year. They lived in Oxford, England where Charlie was a police officer. In 1992 they moved to Harare, Zimbabwe where Charlie taught in a Christian School. Throughout this time Judy was busy at home with their five children while they were both involved with their local church. In 1999 they returned to Vancouver and worked in various fields of employment. In 2006 they joined the pastoral staff of West Coast Christian Fellowship and served there for seven years prior to coming to Vernon. Their passion throughout their marriage has been to see God glorified through each member of the church, equipping them to hear the voice of God and walking in close relationship with Him.
ELDERS
BRYAN AND DONNA REID
Bryan has been an elder at VCF since 1992. Bryan committed his life to Christ when he was 30 years old while attending the Presbyterian Church in Fort St. John. They moved to Vernon and attended VCF in 1996. Bryan retired from 35 years in BC Government in 2007. His experience there, along with a strong gifting in administration has been a tremendous asset to the eldership of VCF. His interests include a wide variety of sports (lately golf), officiating volleyball and traveling. Bryan and Donna are committed to serving Christ in every area and season of their lives. They have been married for 44 years and have two children and 4 grandchildren.
DAVE AND DOREEN ENNS
Dave and Doreen Enns have been a part of VCF from its beginning in 1980. They were House Group leaders for many years. Dave has served on the eldership as financial oversight from the start. Dave brings to the eldership a special gift of wisdom and order. Dave’s spiritual passion is to see the expression of God’s Kingdom in the business world. His interests include reading history and doing genealogical research. He and Doreen have been married for 45 years and have two married sons and 3 grandchildren.
PAUL AND LINDA DANIELSON
In 1980 Paul and Linda Danielson along with 9 others left West Coast Christian Fellowship to be part of the new church plant. They were House Group leaders for many years. Paul has been an elder from the very beginning. He brings a pastoral gifting with a beautiful father’s heart. He is passionate about the study of the Word. Paul loves music, particularly jazz and plays many instruments. He also enjoys a good game of golf. Paul and Linda married in 1975; they have 4 children and 4 grandchildren with two more on the way.
DUANE AND MARVA HARDER
Duane and Marva moved to Vernon and became a part of VCF in 1981. Since 1963, Duane has served in full-time Church ministry. He continues to share his Biblical insights, Church leadership development tools and counseling skills here at VCF, Churches in Canada, the USA and abroad. Duane’s passion is to see the foundations of truth established in the family, the Church and the governmental structures of our society. Duane enjoys reading, gardening, jogging (when able), skiing, restoring furniture and interacting with his grandchildren. Duane and Marva have a large family; they have 3 children, 27 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
ADMINISTRATION
EVIE MCMORRAN
In 1999, Evie with her husband Mike and two children moved to Vernon and began life at VCF. She committed her life to Christ when she was 18, however it wasn’t until she went through a healing journey at VCF that she considers herself truly born anew. Her desire is to see people bound by past hurts to seek help and freedom as she did. Evie loves people and loves having fun. Her interests include cooking and learning Spanish. She enjoys her gym community and being a part of the relationships there. Evie has been our secretary since July 2001.
